Overall, sunlight appears white but as we’ve all been taught, it is composed of many colors. Each color has a different wavelength don’t cha know. When the sun is low on the horizon during sunset, its light must travel through a thicker layer of gas molecules in the atmosphere… which scatters the blue and violet light, leaving the longer wavelengths, red, orange, and yellow more prominent.

Even without such spectacular lighting effects, Poet’s Cove on South Pender Island, BC, is a visually pleasing marina to spend some time at.
