During my professional years I experienced the vagaries of working within the milieu of a sizeable and very complex healthcare organization. My first experiences there were mainly in the clinical arena of critical care: surgical, medical and cardiac. Then through processes somewhat under my control and some a bit beyond my control, I embarked upon the managerial ladder. So… what’s that got to do with the price of fish? Nothing more than backstory, eh?
Early on, one of my directors determined that all the managerial staff and most of the clinical staff under her purview should undergo psychological testing. Why? To figure out what support processes we all needed? No. It was more to determine the psycho-social preferences of our coworkers so we would have a better chance of understanding and meeting their needs whilst being managed. Enter stage right: Myers Briggs personality type testing. Right then I should have returned to the clinical arena. Anyway… it was interesting, but for the most part a wasteful exercise. It turned out I was identified as an INFP. Oh… just keep reading, I’ll get there… Remember… this is backstory. INFP stands for Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. Which doesn’t matter a whit. But the “I” designation does: lntroverted. I was numerically just on the border of being introverted. Which also meant that I was on the cusp of being designated as ENFP. ENFP, meaning Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving, Oh my! Did that make me a willy nilly schizophrenic? No. Not really… But in terms of social interactions I preferred less rather than more… Early in my career I was an INFP. Later in my career I was an ENFP… which only means that I am as malleable as a Gumby… Just like all of youse.
Here is the perspective: This is a prime example of an ENFP paradise. Hundreds of boats. Thousands of people to connect with, interact with, play with.

And… This is an INFP paradise. One boat. Great Northern. Our boat in a perfect location. Which means, that I have clearly reverted to being a very solid INFP!!
